Bantam Prep remains undefeated after weekend back to back wins

Congratulations to the Bantam Prep team for going undefeated over the weekend and having a firm hold on first place with 13 straight wins and 26 points!

On Saturday afternoon the DHA squeaked by POE by a score of 5-4 with the winning OT goal coming off the stick of Tyler Horstmann from Cole Shepard.  Payton Mount led the attack with 2 goals and 2 assists while Nick Ardanaz and Tyler Hortmann added singles. Cole Shepard and Justin Sourdif added 2 helpers each in the win.  Ryan Deighton pushed away 30 of 34 shots fired his way.

Sunday morning the DHA squad blanked out Yale 4 – 0 with Dylan Garand walking away with the shutout, stopping all 32 shots that came his way.  Payton Mount led the scoring with 2 goals and an assist while Justin Sourdif added one goal and 2 assists.  Cole Shepard added a single in the win that helped the DHA team remain undefeated on the season! Wild Pride!

Bantam Prep extends win streak to 10

Congratulations to the Bantam Prep team for extending their win streak to 10 games to start the 2016-17 season!
Payton Mount scored three times including the overtime winner as the Delta Hockey Academy skated away with a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Canadian Sport School Hockey League Bantam Prep Division action on Saturday evening.

DHA kicks off the weekend with a solid showing

DHA congratulates it’s players on a strong start to this weekend’s hockey action.

Delta Hockey Academy (8)
Notre Dame Hounds (2)

(8:30am) — Justin Sourdif led the way with three goals and two helpers as the Delta Hockey Academy cruised to an 8-2 win over the Notre Dame Hounds on Friday morning.

Tyler Horstmann and Trevor Thurston each added a goal and assist for Delta (2-0-0), while Ryan Deighton picked up the win in goal.

Edge School (1)

(3:00pm) – Brandon Santa Juana and Cole Shepard each finished with two goals and an assist as the Delta Hockey Academy’s high-octane offence was on display again, this time in a 10-1 win over the Edge School for Athletes.

Tyler Horstmann also had a three-point game for Delta (3-0-0), scoring once and assisting on two others, while John Evans and Gabriel Shipley each finished with three helpers. Dylan Garand  stopped 18-of-19 shots fired his way for the win in goal.

(6:00pm) – Holden Cardinal scored three times as Delta Hockey Academy Green were 15-0 winners over Edge School on Friday evening.

Carson Latimer Landon Walter each led the way with five points, two goals and three assists, while Ty Gagno, Carson Hemenway and Mark Thurston each finished with a goal and two helpers.

Brady Euerby (Ladner, BC) made 15 saves in goal.

Pursuit of Excellence (3)

(6:15pm) – Carter McColman scored the game-winner with 3:20 remaining in Overtime as Delta Hockey Academy White pulled away with a 4-3 win over the Pursuit of Excellence on Friday evening.

Connor Schultz, Quinn Messer and Carson Merriman each tallied singles for Delta White (1-0-0), while Roan Clarke made 21 saves in goal.

Coeur d’ Alene Hockey Academy (3)

(12:00pm) – Macy Young scored the game-winner 44 seconds into overtime as the Delta Hockey Academy prevailed with a 4-3 win over the Coeur d’ Alene Hockey Academy on Friday afternoon.

Faith Harris led the charge for Delta (2-0-0) with a pair of goals, while goaltender Reese Hiddleston made 40 saves in net.

Seven DHA products shortlisted to Male U16 Team BC

BC Hockey today released the shortlisted roster for the BC Under-16 Team that will compete at the 2016 Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup October 18-23 in Calgary, AB.

DHA is proud to announce that goaltenders Roman Basran and Boston Bilous as well as forwards Aidan Barfoot, Kolton Cousins, Dylan Cozens, Tyus Gent and Jalen Price have cracked the shortlist for Team BC. Best of luck with the start of the 2016-2017 season that will help ensure the 7 players crack the final roster and compete in this year’s Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup.

A total of 30 players were shortlisted, 17 of which were Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student athletes during the 2015-16 season.

Record number of DHA products invited to summer camps

A record number of DHA and CSSHL products have been invited to summer camps and DHA is extremely proud to congratulate 14 of our players.

This summer DHA U18 Prep teammates, Luke Zazula (forward) and Sean Comrie (defenseman) are among the 18 CSSHL members to be invited to the 196 player National Teams’ Summer Showcase.

The National Teams’ Summer Showcase will bring together Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp (44 players) and Canada’s National Under-18 Development Camp (111 players) in Calgary from July 26-Aug. 2. Canada’s National Junior Team Sport Chek Summer Development Camp (41 players) will be hosted in Toronto July 30-Aug 2, and will feature a four-game series against the U.S., Sweden, and Finland from Aug. 3-6 in Plymouth, Mich.

RECORD NUMBER OF DHA PLAYERS TO ATTEND BC MALE U16 CAMP

DHA is proud to announce that 12 of its players have been invited to attend the BC Male U16 Camp which takes place at Shawnigan Lake School from July 13 – 17, 2016.

Congratulations to Arshdeep Bains, Aidan Barfoot, Roman Basran, Boston Bilous, Kolton Cousins, Dylan Cozens, Keegan Craik, Tyus Gent, Butch La Roue, Jalen Price, Tyler Price, Ben Wozney.

The players were invited based on their performance at the U16 BC Cup in April. Following the Provincial Camp, 20 players will be selected to play for Team BC at the 2016 Western Branch Challenge Cup in October.

Craik inks deal with Prince George Cougars

DHA would like to congratulate Keegan Craik on signing with the Prince George Cougars.  Craik was selected by the Cougars in the fifth round, 98th overall, at the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Craik, tallied 22 points in 25 games with the Bantam Prep Team this season.

Twelve DHA Players Selected at 2016 WHL Bantam Draft

This year’s WHL Bantam hosted in Calgary was open to 2001 born players and twelve DHA players heard their names called on Thursday May 5th.  DHA is extremely proud of the following players:

Forward Dylan Cozens was the first DHA player going in the first round, 19th overall to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.  Forward Lukas Svjekovsky was drafted in the second round, 36th overall to the Vancouver Giants.

Next off the board was Jalen Price, in the 3rd round, 63rd overall to the Medicine Hat Tigers and goaltender Roman Basran 64th overall to the Kelowna Rockets.  In the 4th round and 80th overall goaltender Boston Bilous went the Edmonton Oil Kings and 88th overall forward Tyus Gent went to the Victoria Royals.

Forward Keegan Craik was selected in the 5th round, 98th overall by the Prince George Cougars while forward Aidan Barfoot was selected by the Vancouver Giants in the 6th round 113th overall.

Forward Corson Hopwo was selected 138th overall in Round 7 by the Medicine Hat Tigers and defenceman Nicholas Kent went 147th overall to the Saskatoon Blades.

Defenceman Ben Wozney was selected in the 9th Round 181 overall by the Edmonton Oil Kings and Butch LaRoue went in Round 10 208th overall to the Prince George Cougars.

Congratulations to all players selected in this year’s WHL Bantam Draft. DHA is extremely proud of you!
