Media Release: Delta Hockey Academy Announces Female U18 Team

Since the announcement of the CSSHL expanding to a female division within the league, DHA has worked hard to create a foundation and structure for their new Female program launching in 2015-16. Having the infrastructure already in place with the Bantam Varsity, Prep, Midget E15 & U18 team, will allow for a smooth transition logistically and allow for the team to hit the ground running.

“We are pleased to be adding a Female Division to the league,” said CSSHL Chairman, Andy Oakes. “Over time, we expect the Female Division to grow and prosper much like the male side, where we started with just two divisions and eight teams and have grown to five divisions and 33 teams.”

Delta, alongside other current CSSHL members, will make up the teams within the league.  The structure and full details of the season will be finalized at the league AGM in June.  The Delta Hockey Academy has already outlined a budget, including an anticipated regular season schedule as well as tournaments they wish to attend.  Team recruitment and selections will start immediately by the current DHA staff and final decisions will be made once their Head Coach has been appointed. 

Currently DHA is in talks with a short list of coaching candidates, with hopes that they will finalize their selection this week.
