Congratulations to the DHA Elite 15’s on their repeat gold medal performance at the 2016 World Sport School Challenge in Calgary over the weekend! A hard fought battle during regulation time in the final and after 7 rounds in the shootout DHA was victorious by a score of 5-4 over the Calgary Blackhawks to take home the gold! Way to go Wild!

Bantam Varsity Green getting into the Christmas Spirit
DHA Bantam Varsity Green worked at Wagner Hills Farm on the weekend doing some painting and landscape clean up to update the women’s shelter and spread Christmas cheer. They will be using the funds raised to pass on the good cheer to local families in need this Christmas! Way to go Wild!
Female Varsity continue to dominate
It was a big weekend for the DHA Female Varsity team as they went undefeated in Penticton over the weekend, extending their record to 20-3-0 on the season!
On Friday night, the squad blanked the Coeur D’Alene Hockey Academy 6 – 0. Reese Hiddleston pushed away all 25 shots that came her way. Aimee Brucker netted 2 goals while Marah Wagner and Emily Johnston added a goal and an assist each.
Saturday morning the team went on to dump Banff Hockey Academy 6 – 1. Congratulations to Alexia Ursua who got her second hat trick of the season. Aimee Brucker added 2 goals and 1 assist while Marah Wagner added 2 helpers in the win. Jamie Johnson made 11 of 12 saves in net.
Aimee Brucker and Karina Lannard both netted hat tricks while Alexia Ursua had one goal as DHA blanked Banff Hockey Academy 7 – 0 on Sunday morning to extend their win streak to 4 games.
The team holds first place in their division with 40 points and a 20-3-0 record! Way to go Wild!
DHA Alum Courtney Vorster to play for Team Canada
DHA Alum Courtney Vorster is just one of four 16 year olds who will begin 2017 on the game’s world stage wearing her country’s colours.
The blueliner was among 23-players named Monday to Team Canada’s roster for the 2017 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, slated for Jan. 7-15 in the Czech Republic. DHA congratulates you Courtney on your accomplishment and wishes you success at the World Championships!

Bantam Prep remains undefeated after weekend back to back wins
Congratulations to the Bantam Prep team for going undefeated over the weekend and having a firm hold on first place with 13 straight wins and 26 points!
On Saturday afternoon the DHA squeaked by POE by a score of 5-4 with the winning OT goal coming off the stick of Tyler Horstmann from Cole Shepard. Payton Mount led the attack with 2 goals and 2 assists while Nick Ardanaz and Tyler Hortmann added singles. Cole Shepard and Justin Sourdif added 2 helpers each in the win. Ryan Deighton pushed away 30 of 34 shots fired his way.
Sunday morning the DHA squad blanked out Yale 4 – 0 with Dylan Garand walking away with the shutout, stopping all 32 shots that came his way. Payton Mount led the scoring with 2 goals and an assist while Justin Sourdif added one goal and 2 assists. Cole Shepard added a single in the win that helped the DHA team remain undefeated on the season! Wild Pride!
Midget Prep sweeps Victoria Showcase
The DHA Midget Prep kicked off the Victoria Showcase on Friday with a 3 – 2 win over Northern Alberta X-treme. Shane Meadahl turned away 21 of 23 shots while scoring came off the sticks of Matt Mosher, Thomas Garey and Jalen Price for the win.
On Saturday, the squad squeaked by OHA Edmonton Prep by a score of 4-3. Pearce Messer led the attack with 2 goals and an assist. Tanner Hopps added a goal and an assist while Jalen Price added a single. Jacob Bakken pushed away 27 of 30 shots that came his way.
Sunday’s hockey action concluded with a 4-3 win over Edge and Shane Meadahl turning away 25 of 28 shots that he faced. Jalen Price led the attack with a goal and an assist. Singles by Matt Mosher, Tyler Chyzowski and Ethan Scardina rounded out the scoring.
The clean sweep now has DHA in first place in their division with 26 points on the season! Congratulations Wild!

DHA teams travel together, win together
DHA teams that travel together, win together! It was a clean sweep for the DHA Female Varsity and Bantam Varsity Green teams as they knocked off OHA in Saturday and Sunday hockey action.
The Female Varsity attack was led by Alexia Ursua who netted 4 goals on Saturday evening in Penticton while Melody Pilchak, Macy and Zoe Leas added singles. Kesslan McCabe picked up 3 assists while Karina Lannard, Emily Johnston and Mackenzie Paynter added 2 helpers each in the 7 – 1 win. Reece Hiddleston turned away 30 of 31 shots!
On Sunday morning, with Jamie Johnson turning away 26 of 28 shots the DHA squad came away with a 4-2 win to sweep the weekend. Aimee Brucker led the attack with one goal and two assists, Baie Marcantonio added a goal and an assist while Faithe Harris finished with one goal.
The Female Varsity team holds a solid first place in the division with 32 points on the season! Go Wild!
The Bantam Varsity Green team holds a commanding lead with 24 points for first place and remains undefeated in their division.
The BVG upended OHA 6 -1 and 11 – 1 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. It was a balanced attack on Saturday with Carson Latimer leading the attack with one goal and an assist. Zach Sherwin, Alec Scouras, Lukas Olson, Mark Thurston and Jacob Sherwood all netted singles. Russell Howlett had 2 helpers while Nathan Kirkpatrick stopped 11 of 12 shots fired his way.
On Sunday morning the boys knocked off OHA 11-1 with scoring and helpers coming from across the board. Well done Wild!
Bantam Varsity White are the Edge School Fall Classic Champs
Congratulations to the Bantam Varsity White team on their recent success as the Edge School Fall Classic Showcase champions!
In the first game of the 4 team round robin DHA dumped OHA 8-2 on Friday, Oct. 28. The squad then went on to squeak by the CNHA Blazers 4-3 in game 2 of round robin play. The go ahead and game winning goal came off the stick of Nicholas Kovacs with only 2 minutes to go in the 3rd period. In the final game of round robin play, DHA tied St. Albert 3-3 which was good enough to secure first place in their pool.
BV White went on to the semi finals and with a balanced attack and a huge team effort as they upended the competition, IHA, by a score of 8-1 to move on to the finals on Sunday afternoon.
It was a thrilling and tight match in the finals as the DHA came out with the huge 3-2 OT win against Okotoks. Quinn Messer netted the OT winner for BV White to capture the Edge School Fall Classic title.
“The boys played very hard all tournament showing our character in two come from behind wins, our resiliency in the finals, sticking with the game plan, outshooting the other team 41-14 and finally beating a very good goalie to win it”, said Head Coach Spencer Bennett.

Female Varsity extend win streak to 5 games
Congratulations to the Female Varsity team as they upend OHA twice to extend their win streak to 5 games and overall record to 11-1-0 for a solid first place in the division!
Karina Lannard scored twice as the Delta Hockey Academy skated to a 4-1 win over the Okanagan Hockey Academy in Canadian Sport School Hockey League Female Varsity Division action on Saturday afternoon. Reese Hiddleston made 21 saves of 22 shots in the win.
