DHA FV dominates Banff Showcase
DHA Female Varsity has started the 2016-2017 season on a positive note. The girls went undefeated in four games over the weekend in the first ever Canadian Sport School Hockey League at the Banff Showcase.
DHA Prep post back-to-back wins over the weekend
Pearce Messer had a pair of goals as the Delta Hockey Academy overcame an early 2-0 deficit to win 7-3 over the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy on Saturday afternoon at Westhills arena.
Tanner Hopps added a goal and two assists, while Mackenzie Merriman chipped in with a goal and a helper for Delta (1-0-0), which scored four times in the middle stanza and tacked on three more in the final frame. Shane Meadahl stopped 16-of-19 shots fired his way to pick up the win.
Kieran O’Hearn and Thomas Garey scored in regulation, while Tanner Hopps and Mackenzie Merriman tallied shootout markers as the Delta Hockey Academy edged the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. Jacob Bakken made 19 saves in goal for Delta.

DHA kicks off the weekend with a solid showing
DHA Female Varsity wins thriller over Shawnigan
In the first ever Canadian Sport School Hockey League Female Varsity game Aimee Brucker scored the game winner with less than one second left in the game to lift the Delta Hockey Academy to an exciting 4-3 win over Shawnigan Lake School. Paris Eliopoulos, Alexia Ursua and Macy Young added singles in the win.
Evans and Garand set pace for Bantam Prep shutout win over Yale
John Evans scored twice and setup another, while Dylan Garand stopped all 30 shots he faced as the Delta Hockey Academy blanked the Yale Hockey Academy by a 6-0 score in CSSHL play.
Giants sign DHA forward Torzsok
DHA is proud to announce that the Vancouver Giants have signed Hunor Torzsok to a Standard Player Agreement. Torzsok, 16, registered 30 points (10-20-30) in 33 games with the Delta Elite 15s team during the 2015-16 season, while also adding seven points (3-4-7) in four post-season games.
Wild’s Benson signs with Moose Jaw Warriors
DHA would like to congratulate Matthew Benson on signing with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. The 15 year old defenseman netted 13 points in his 2015-2016 campaign with the Wild.
DHA Alum Courtney Vorster set to play for National Women’s U18 Team
DHA is extremely proud to announce that alum Courtney Vorster will suit up for Team Canada with the National Women’s U18 Team when Canada meets USA in a three-game series in Calgary at the Markin MacPhail Centre from Aug. 14-21.

Courtney, who currently plays for the U16 girls team at Shattuck – St. Mary’s School in Minnesota, has verbally committed to a full-ride NCAA Scholarship at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut for the fall of 2018. Her SSM team defeated the MN Elite (Grey) 2-1 in the finals to capture the National Championships for the second consecutive year.

Seven DHA products shortlisted to Male U16 Team BC
BC Hockey today released the shortlisted roster for the BC Under-16 Team that will compete at the 2016 Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup October 18-23 in Calgary, AB.
DHA is proud to announce that goaltenders Roman Basran and Boston Bilous as well as forwards Aidan Barfoot, Kolton Cousins, Dylan Cozens, Tyus Gent and Jalen Price have cracked the shortlist for Team BC. Best of luck with the start of the 2016-2017 season that will help ensure the 7 players crack the final roster and compete in this year’s Western Canada U16 Challenge Cup.
A total of 30 players were shortlisted, 17 of which were Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) student athletes during the 2015-16 season.
