Med Hat Tigers sign forward Corson Hopwo

DHA is extremely proud to announce and would like to congratulate forward Corson Hopwo on signing a Standard Player Agreement with the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Hopwo scored 19 goals and added 25 assists for 44 points in 30 games last season. Eight goals were powerplay markers and 9 were game winning goals.  Hopwo was a seventh round draft pick in the 2016 WHL draft.

Well done Corson!  Best of luck!  Wild Pride!

Scardina commits to Cowichan Capitals

DHA is extremely proud to announce that forward Ethan Scardina has committed to the Cowichan Capitals of the BCHL for the 2017-2018 campaign.

Scardina is a 4 year product of the DHA and in 28 games this season, he posted 21 points with 9 goals and 12 assists.

Gent signs with Victoria Royals

DHA is extremely proud and would like to congratulate forward Tyus Gent on signing a Standard Player Agreement with the Victoria Royals of the WHL.

Gent led the team this season with 50 points, 25 goals and 25 helpers.  He was selected by the Royals in the fourth round, 88th overall, in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

Sourdif signs with the Giants

DHA is extremely proud and would like to congratulate Justin Sourdif on signing with the Vancouver Giants.

The 5’10”, 158lb forward amassed 32 goals and 34 assists in 29 regular season games this year.

The Surrey, B.C. forward was selected by the Giants in the first round, third overall, at the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

Hopps signs with Victoria Grizzlies

DHA is extremely proud and would like to congratulate forward Tanner Hopps on signing with the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL.

In 30 outings last season, Hopps found the back of the net 17 times and added 22 helpers for 39 points.

Price, Brant and Cunningham Bronze Medalists at Aboriginal Nationals

DHA is extremely proud and congratulates Jalen Price (Prep), Ty Brant and Corey Cunningham (E15) on their Bronze medal performance, representing Team BC at the recent 2017 Aboriginal National Championships in Lake Cowichan.

The prestigious tournament hosted by Cowichan included eight teams, including female and male, representing every area of Canada.  Rick Brant, a front runner in the organization of the competitive, midget-aged athletes, commends everyone for the huge success of the tournament.

Ty Brant (2nd appearance at the tournament) is from Lake Cowichan and enjoyed the opportunity to play in front of his hometown crowd.  Brant is still eligible to play in the championships next year in Nova Scotia and he intends to try out.

DHA well represented in the WHL Bantam draft

DHA prospect, Justin Sourdif was claimed 3rd overall in the WHL Bantam draft on Thursday, May 4th in Calgary.    Twelve of Sourdif’s teammates would also be drafted that day.  Teammate Cole Shepard was drafted by the Vancouver Giants in the 2nd round.

Other Surrey draftees in the 15 year old draft include D man Kurtis Smythe (Saskatoon Blades) 2nd round,  D man Bryce Margetson (Moose Jaw Warriors), centre Daniel O’Neil (Lethbridge Hurricanes)

Kent and Svejkovsky drafted to USHL

DHA is extremely proud to announce that Nicholas Kent and Lukas Svejkovsky have been drafted to the USHL!

Nicholas, a defenseman with DHA, was drafted by the Green Bay Gamblers of Wisconsin in Phase 1 of the USHL draft.

Lukas, a forward with DHA was drafted by the Muskegon Lumberjacks, 92nd overall in the 6th round on May 1st in Phase 1 of the USHL draft.
