Chanreet Bassi to play for U18 Team BC at Nationals

DHA is extremely proud to announce that Female Prep student athlete Chanreet Bassi has been named to the 2017 Female U18 Team BC that will compete at the 2017 Nationals in Quebec City from November 1 – 5th.

Chanreet is one of 8 current CSSHL student athletes to be named on the BC roster.

DHA Midget Prep and Elite 15’s leading divisions

Congratulations to the Midget Prep on an impressive start to the season.  The squad is leading the division with 6-1-0 record and 12 points.  Tyus Gent has netted 7 goals and 9 assists to lead the division while Payton Mount follows with 6 goals, 7 assists for 13 points.

Congratulations to the Elite 15 who are currently undefeated with an impressive start to the season with a 7-0-0 record.  John Evans leads the scoring in that division with 21 points, 7 goals and 14 assists while Brandon Santa Juana follows close behind with 9 goals and 11 assists for 20 points.

Dubinsky signs with Regina Pats

DHA is extremely proud to announce that Cole Dubinsky has signed a Standard Player Agreement with the Regina Pats.

Dubinsky, a 15-year-old forward, was a fourth-round pick in the 2017 bantam draft and had 14 goals and 30 points in 22 games last season.

DHA newcomers shine at Baseball World Series in Williamsport

DHA would like to congratulate student athletes Sheldyn Scott and Kyle Chyzowski of White Rock Little League on their outstanding performance as they represent Team Canada at the 2017 Baseball World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Scott and Chyzowski, both 2004 born multi-sport athletes will suit up for DHA’s Bantam Varsity and Bantam Prep White teams respectively, this coming hockey season.

The Little League World Series is an annual event that brings together the world’s 16 best teams made up of 12- and 13-year-olds. White Rock defeated Quebec in the Canadian National Championships to earn a berth to the prestigious 2017 World Series event.

The Canadian champions, are off to an excellent start with a 2-0 record, downing Italy 12-2 in opening action and Venezuela 7-3 in second day game play.

DHA wishes Sheldyn Scott, Kyle Chyzowski and the rest of Team Canada the best of luck in their upcoming match against Japan and for the remainder of the World Series.  Go Team Canada!  Wild Pride!

DHA’s Braedy Euerby repeat Bantam AAA U15 Baseball Provincial Champions


DHA would like to congratulate multi-sport athlete Braedy Euerby, the Delta Tiger’s ace pitcher, on a successful baseball season as the Tiger’s become repeat Provincial Champions in the Bantam AAA U15 division.

The Tigers locked up a semi-final berth with wins over Victoria (12-2), Kelowna (8-4) and Vancouver (11-3). They dropped their final game to Chilliwack (8-4) and settled for second place in their pool.

Euerby pitched a no hitter  and struck out 10 in nearly six innings of work before reaching the maximum 95 pitches allowed. Euerby and the Tiger’s went on to win the game 6-0.

Euerby posted a perfect record between the  pipes last season with the DHA Bantam Varsity Green team and will suit up for the E15 team this year.  Braedy was selected 103rd overall by the Vancouver Giants in this year’s Bantam draft.

Sourdif named Hockey Now Player of the Year for BC

DHA is extremely proud to announce that student athlete Justin Sourdif has been named the Hockey Now Player of the Year for 2017.

Sourdif posted 66 points (32-34-66) in 29 games with the Delta Hockey Academy during the 2016-17 season, while chipping in with another six points (4-2-6) in five post-season games.

The Vancouver Giants selected Sourdif  in the first round, third overall, at the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.

DHA Alumni Zazula and Smith invited to U18 Training Camp

                                                         
DHA is extremely proud to announce that alumni defencemen Luke Zazula and Ty Smith have been invited to Canada’s U18 training camp in Plymouth, Michigan later this summer.

In 54 games with the Kamloops Blazers last season Zazula netted 2 goals and 14 assists with 59 PIMs. Smith found the back of the net 5 times and added 27 helpers in his 2016-2017 campaign.

Both players suited up for Canada in the 2016 Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Sault Ste. Marie.

Kamloops Blazers Ink Trevor Thurston

DHA is extremely proud to announce that defenceman Trevor Thurston has signed a Standard Player Agreement with the Kamloops Blazers.

Thurston was the 81st overall pick in the 4th round and in 20 games last season he had 20 points with nine goals and 11 assists.

Seattle Thunderbirds sign Mount

DHA is extremely proud to announce the Seattle Thunderbirds have signed their top prospect right wing Payton Mount to a Standard Player Agreement.

In 30 games play last season Mount logged 67 points with 30 goals and 37 helpers, to set him in 4th place overall in scoring for the Bantam Prep division.

Mount was the T-Birds first round selection, 19th overall, at the 2017 Bantam Draft.
